Saint Petersburg Metropolitan, operators and managers of the metro system of the city of St. Petersburg in Russia, will meet suppliers for bespoke consultation meetings at the 7th International Railway Summit in Frankfurt taking place on 20-22 February 2019.

The St. Petersburg Metro, which comprises 113.6km of track over 5 lines visiting 69 stations, is one of the 20 busiest metro systems in the world, with 2.3m people using the service every day.

St. Petersburg Metro has recently undertaken a major project of station renovation (maintaining their beautiful architecture and distinctive artwork), rolling stock upgrades (354 new cars having been purchased in the last 5 years), and network expansion. For example, a 5km extension of line 3, including two new stations, to St. Petersburg Stadium, a venue for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, was inaugurated in May 2018.

Pavlov Andrey Valeryevich, Chief Engineer and First Deputy Director of St. Petersburg Metro will meet with expert supplier companies during pre-arranged one-to-one meetings during the 7th International Railway Summit.

Mr Pavlov is responsible for the introduction of new equipment, technical means and technologies. He was responsible for the strategy for updating worn-out rolling stock. He has also introduced a complex automated system for dispatch management.

Organisations and individuals interested in learning more about the International Railway Summit and about how they can participate in the event can visit www.irits.org or contact the organisers, IRITS Events.

International Railway Summit is a meeting of senior executives representing the world’s key rail operators, rail infrastructure management companies, national and local governments, rolling stock manufacturers and a wide range of solution providers.

International Railway Summit provides a 'matchmaking' service between rail industry leaders ('buyers') and technical experts, based on buyer delegates' project requirements and the proven expertise of large and small suppliers that we have carefully handpicked. Based on this matchmaking, buyer delegates attend one-to-one consultation sessions with suitable suppliers during the annual summit.

In addition to the one-to-one meetings, delegates also attend a conference programme given by key industry leaders and experts and network over lunches and dinners with their counterparts and industry colleagues from all over the world. International Railway Summit is hosted by IRITS Events. The 5th International Railway Summit will take place on 15-17 November 2017 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the first time the event will be hosted in Asia. The 6th International Railway Summit on 21-23 February 2018 in Prague, Czech Republic.
